CALAFATE & GLACIERS NATIONAL PARK – 4 Days

Los Glaciares National Park

Located in the southwest of the region, it was created in 1937 for protecting a vast continental ice field and glaciers. Due to the importance of the native flora and fauna, it was listed as Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981.

The main attraction here is definitely the continental ice field, which all together occupies 2600 km2 combining the Argentinean and Chilean side. From these big fields, countless glaciers flow down, of which the most famous one is the Perito Moreno Glacier, which falls into Argentino Lake. On the shores of the lake, located just 80 km away from the Perito Moreno, we find El Calafate, a small village and the center of excursions.
